High Winds and Extreme Cold Temperatures Expected This Weekend

Friday 2/3 – Sunday 2/5/2023

 

As you may be aware, this weekend the weather forecast is predicting high winds and extremely cold temperatures.  This may result in both frozen pipes and possible power outages.

 

Precautionary Methods:

❖ Keep your heat on - if you plan on leaving for an extended period of time, please set your

thermostat at least 60 degrees to try and prevent pipes from freezing.

 

❖ Keep indoor temperatures consistent day & night, until the weather improves. This puts less of a burden on the heating system.

 

❖ During periods of cold, let the cold-water drip from faucets utilizing exposed pipes.

 

❖ Open any under-sink cabinets to let warm air circulate around water pipes and drains. 

 

❖ Keep bathroom doors open and, in these extreme conditions, may be best to turn the

thermostat up a few degrees.

 

❖ Have cell phones fully charged

 

❖ Have battery-operated radio & flashlights ready to go with fresh batteries.

 

❖ High winds may result in power outages – Should this occur, please contact your utility provider right away.

 

*Remove furniture from balconies.
