when outside temperature nears zero degrees or below

Keep heat on (~60 degrees) in vacant units - even when away for day or two – this includes the bathroom

Let water drip from faucets

This is especially important where the pipes are closest to the outside walls (such as smaller half bathrooms).

Keep outside doors shut to prevent cold from entering the building

Bursting pipes can damage multiple units and are very costly to repair.
