Just a reminder to not prop open your unit door if unit smoke alarm goes off during burnt food cooking,etc. 

You should open your windows when at all possible to clear out the smoke.  Failure to do this could result in fines at the discretion of the Board.

Opening the door to the hallway to let smoke out will set off the main smoke alarm and cause the building wide "loud" alarms to go off and a visit by the Fire Department and annoyed residents - not to mention the dangerous "false alarm" reaction where residents stop taking the fire alarms seriously and do not evacuate.
